Nagatoro Hiking

My wife and I went to Nagatoro for a nice hiking yesterday.  It was a beautiful day and we thoroughly enjoyed the gorgeous autumn view from atop Mt. Hodosan and the famous gorge.

Hodosan Ropeway Station.

The ropeway car.

The view from the Hodosan Peak Station.

Crazy cherry blossom again.

Oku-no-in (Inner Building) of Hodosan Jinja Shrine at the top of the mountain.

The shrine is surrounded by Japanese cedar trees.

 Beautiful Japanese maple leaves.

Another view from a trail coming down from the mountain.

Beautiful yellow leaves.

The trail looked like this.

We then went down to the gorge - here are Kayakers.

The area was beautiful.

River cruise boats.

There were some rapids.

This area is called Iwadatami (Rock Tatami)

Many people were out enjoying the beautiful autumn day.
